Largest merger in the storage market - DieEnergieFabrik (DEF) and sonnen are launching a cooperation

DieEnergieFabrik has decided on a comprehensive cooperation with sonnen in order to be ideally positioned for the rapidly growing market for domestic storage units. Senec’s largest partner, which sold around a third of the company’s storage units in 2017, is thus switching to sonnen.

Wildpoldsried/Mainburg, 1th October 2018 - With immediate effect, DieEnergieFabrik GmbH (DEF) from Mainburg is sonnen’s competence and service centre in Bavaria, North Rhine Westphalia and Baden-Wuerttemberg. The cooperation complements sonnen’s existing sales and service network. This comprehensive service, offered by sonnen through DEF, will be particularly beneficial to specialist partners in those regions.

“By selling more than 1,800 storage units in 2017, DieEnergieFabrik has already shown itself to be an excellent competence and service partner. In addition to our sonnenBatterie centres and specialist partners, we are ideally positioned for further growth in our most important market in Germany”, says Christoph Ostermann, CEO and co-founder of sonnen.

For specialist companies carrying out the installation, quality and service are becoming increasingly important aspects in the selection process for energy storage systems. In light of the already high number of installations and secure market growth, a capable service network is of enormous importance, particularly for smaller businesses. In recent years, DEF has specialised in sales, training and service for installation specialists.

“We are seeing a huge demand for sonnenBatteries, which will receive another boost with the renewable energy (Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz) subsidies due to expire in two years. As a competence centre for solar energy storage units, it was very important to us to take this step with the market leader who has the highest level of product quality and safety. Furthermore, intelligent network services are becoming more and more important. sonnen has attained a unique selling point in this market and is probably the most attractive and innovative brand in this sector”, says Thomas Üffink, managing director of DEF GmbH and adds: “We have also succeeded in securing one of Senec’s most successful sales experts in Bavaria, Klaus Deuschle, to strengthen our team.”

sonnen will continue to pursue its rapid expansion course both in Germany and internationally. sonnen only recently announced the construction of a production facility and virtual power station in Australia.
