sonnen appoints Tim Ulbricht as global CSO

To further strengthen its international growth strategy, sonnen announces Tim Ulbricht as new Chief Sales Officer (CSO), who will be responsible for global sales.

Wildpoldsried, 2 September 2019 – CSO Tim Ulbricht (49) will be part of the management board of sonnen with immediate effect and will be responsible for further developing international sales and thereby continuing the rapid growth of the company.

Tim Ulbricht has over 20 years of professional experience and an extensive knowledge of renewable energies. Most recently, he was Managing Director at the digital energy specialist kiwigrid, where he was primarily responsible for sales, but also for product strategy, marketing and customer service.

Prior to that, he was head of European service sales at SMA Solar Technology in Kassel. Between 2009 and 2012, he was Managing Director at GeckoEnergy, the service subsidiary of GeckoGroup AG, which covered nearly the entire photovoltaic value chain, i.e. the production, installation, sales and service of photovoltaic systems.

“Tim Ulbricht is an internationally experienced manager who knows the entire value chain of renewable energies from his own practical experience. In addition to the hardware aspects, this also includes digital energy management and the knowledge of the overall energy economy. As an energy supplier of the future, sonnen brings together all these areas and so we are delighted to continue our global growth course together with him,” says Christoph Ostermann, CEO and co-founder of sonnen.

“Within the energy sector, sonnen is leading the way in terms of innovation and setting trends. So I see this as a very special opportunity to help shape the future direction of this company. My past experiences are a perfect fit for helping to promote and further develop the rapid growth with a standardized product, well proven sales channels and unique digital energy services,” says Tim Ulbricht.

Before entering the renewable energy sector in 2009, Tim Ulbricht previously worked for Philips in the automotive industry and spent many years as a consultant at Accenture. He has a degree in physics from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen.
